Can’t imagine a better way to spend a Sunday than developing new work!
Don't Miss LA RUTA tonight only, 6:30 PM at the Cherry Lane!
ABOUT LA RUTA:
The desert is hiding many secrets…some of them buried in the sand. Pulled from real testimonies, La Ruta follows two mothers searching for their missing daughters and the dark truths that surround them. Set in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, a city plagued by the unsolved murders of hundreds of women, this play with music examines a community of women attempting to live in the wake of unspeakable loss.
Laurie Woolery directs.

I just had an amazing week working on Matthew Paul Olmos's latest play: So Go The Ghosts of Mexico Part 3. It's part of a stunning three play cycle about the US's involvement in the drug violence in my home country. Led by the incredible Rachel Chavkin with the support of New Dramatists, we were able to really dive in and explore Matthew's beautiful work.
It's almost Halloween! To celebrate, I participated in a reading last night of ghost plays over at the Dramatists Guild of America. The plays were written by Jeffrey James Keyes and directed by the great Terry Berliner! Spooky!
Headed over to The Lark today to take part in a small reading of the living'life of the daughter mira, by the amazing Matthew Paul Olmos. It's a gorgeous work about the relationship of a premature baby and her parents. So excited!
